She eats snow

She did play with the box on Thursday, but no pics/movies to share. Friday we left the house at 7AM and didn't return home (at least Morgan and I, Jim did go home to let the dogs out) until 7:30PM.  I picked Morgan up from school and realized that I had left a very important file on the counter at school so decided to head back to get it. Morgan was excited to see the inside of my school - she's only played at the playground. We go to play in the gym with all the bikes, cars and slides. She was in heaven running around asking, "Can I try this now?"

It was so beautiful out that she was only wearing her fleece jacket, but she insisted on her shirt hood!

Oh, and she's a true midwesterner - she eats snow!

And we wore her out!

Day3...

School was cancelled on Wednesday due to the ice, snow and wind. But classic March storm, it was gorgeous by the afternoon, sunny and melting. Morgan and I had fun keeping busy in the house. She was still enamored with the box.
Today she needed to eat 'in bed' - strawberry icecream no less

She also got to try out her new water color paints and paint brushes

But even 3 year olds get bored (for all of 30 seconds)

Day 2 with Rubermaid

Today she decided she needed read 'in bed'. The mini magnadoodle was her 'book'. You can see she's added the comfort of a pillow for her back and a cover.

A room full of toys

Why is it in a room FULL of cool toys, the rubbermaid container is the toy of choice.  Although I shouldn't complain because the imaginitive play that was coming thorugh was priceless!  Is was her bed and she wanted to be covered up with a door.

First Haircut

Up to this point I have been cutting Morgan's hair and doing a pretty good job of it. BUT, two weeks ago I awoke crying from an awful nightmare where I had been cutting her hair - she moved and I cut her very badly (I won't add graphic details). Anyway, time for Katie to start seeing her

Morgan loved the penguins on the cape

All the other women around oohh-ed and aahh-ed over M. She sat so still and was so silent.

Morgan loved Katie but was confused by the 'earing' in her nose and lip. When I asked her if she thought Katie made a mistake she was pretty convinced that I had my earring in the wrong place (which are in my ear lobes)

Anyway - Morgan survived without a scratch!

Paper Plate Bonnet Parade

At Parent/Teacher conferences we were handed a paper plate and asked to help Morgan create a bonnet for the annual Spring Parade. Having never seen a paper plate bonnet before I googled images - the Internet never ceases to amaze me and within minutes I gained an understanding of the foundation and was able to give Morgan the tools and supplies to create her own bonnet of beauty.

exploring her artistic sensibilities

Unfortunately it's still very cold here with feet upon feet of snow everywhere.  Morgan wanted to show off her new spring dress, compliments of Grandma, and her butterfly wellies and was disappointed that she had to get dressed in all her snow gear to go for the walk (part of it was that they would be playing in the yard after the parade)

After school were were able to get a few shots of what she wore to school

All in all though, it was a great activity to really set the idea that YES, Spring will come; at times this year I have really questioned it!

Little Singers

Recently the Academy For Children - Morgan's school, had a Montessori work night. This is when the kids show off how they work. The brown stairs and red rods are Moragn's favorite.

Right now she just puts them in the correct order but the other pictures are what others have created.

What was even more precious was the impromptu singing concert Miss Sue treated us to.
Morgan is in front and next to a 5 year old girl - will she really be that big in just 2 more years???
She was so excited to stand and be a part of the group
The little boy in orange is Brody and the 2 of them are the only 3-years olds in the room

Ear Infection

We played with Annika, Aubrey and Bambi yesterday and I noticed Morgan really poking her ear - Bambi did too and asked if she had an infection. When we got home my gut said get it checked so back out we went again. Sure enough she's got one - her ears are both so corroded with wax from being sick that it was acting as a dam keeping the goo in. Once the doc poked and prodded it started leaking out her ear and down her cheek. Thank God for a phenomenal ENT who placed her tubes 2 years ago - they are still totally in place and doing exactly what they are supposed to - get rid of the gunk.  She's so weird about ear infection though - her temp? 96.6 totally normal for her! Oh by-the-by she had to be weighed as well: with all her clothes and shoes on 26.6lbs. So even with her increased eating she hasn't put on any weight yet. If we could ALL just get over being sick!!!
She was intent on coloring a border all the way around the paper
