Her imagination is developing in leaps and bounds. Tonight she is camping in her room in a tree, I am mama chipmunk and she wants to go skating. She came up with the idea to tie paper to her feet and use various junk mail and rubberbands for elbow pads.

New Furniture
After quite the challenge of getting furniture moved out of Minocqua, it finally all arrived at 7:45 Monday morning. We did move things around a bit but have finally settled on the last picture. Now we just have to put things away - stay tuned for final pics:
We started with the piano in the dining room
and the pie-cupboard in the living room
but it just seems more appropriate to have the piano in the living room
and the pir-cupboard in the dining room
it's definately larger than the old china hutch - but oh so much more storage!
Strider Running Bike
We started Morgan on a balance bike this summer so she will learn to ride a 2-wheeler
If she keeps going at the rate she's progressing we will move her to her pedal bike in the early fall! This is just some info on balance bikes - for all of you with little ones, I would highly recommend learning to ride this way!

Valentines
First off I have to explain that Morgan has flower and fairy stencils in her room that she has decided to move around. I told her she couldn't, but that we could get some for her that she could. She took that to mean make them! Saturday morning she bombarded Jim and me with her idea that she had to make 'utensils' out of paper and she needed: paper, crayons, scisors and tape! She then proceded to cut out a star shape, color it then stuck it to my door. We had absolutely no idea what she meant, it was hours before we realized she meant 'stencils'.
She also spent Friday and Saturday talking about Valentines and neither Jim or I could figure out what she was talking about. She moved two of the stencils from her room to my bedroom door.
What we have finally pieced together is that she remembers Valentines day as a day to give cards to make people feel good - Mom is REALLY sad, therefore she needs lots of Valentines on her door.
So in her three-year-old mind she is trying to help mom feel better!
It's working!

My best dog Puck
We are excrutiatingly sad here - yesterday afternoon we had to make to awful decision to have my 'first-child' Puck put to sleep. He was 12 years old and was totally devoted to me - he was my soul mate; I unleashed every emotion I have on him and he bore it like no human ever would. I am bereft. Morgan is confused and scared - doesn't understand where Puck has gone, doesn't understand death and really doesn't understand mom crying.
Thank you to Linda Barnes who penned this, it sums up life without my baby-boy
THE DOGS WHO HAVE SHARED OUR LIVES
The dogs who've shared our lives.
In subtle ways they let us know
their spirit still survives.
Old habits still make us think
we hear a barking at the door.
Or step back when we drop
a tasty morsel on the floor.
Our feet still go around the place
the food dish used to be,
And, sometime, coming home at night,
we miss them terribly.
And although time may bring new friends
and a new food dish to fill,
That one place in our hearts
belongs to them...
and always will.

Whole Holiday Outfit
So the hat's become a favorite and today she decided to wear the WHOLE holiday outfit! Thanks Grandma for a great dress that's gotten lots of wear!
Creative Dressing
Morgan has been very interested in 'dressing up' lately and pretending she's a princess. Here are some of her ensambles out of her dress-up bag.
She has this new smug smile
We bought her school supplies and she very politely asked for a princess folder - she loves Tinkerbell right now
All afternoon she wore this get-up - she called the hat her 'Holdiday' hat, "Oh, I have to go get my holiday hat to wear outside!" was her comment before going on our evening walk.
