2 1/4

Who knew time could go by so quickly! Morgan was 27 months on the 17th. We are no longer taking formal pics every 3 months, but I want to still document her growth in that time span. So I quick took some nice spring pics on the 19th.

Happiness is a porch swing!

Morgan has a new play-room! The front porch. She's moved her scooter, babies, books, chalk our there and she plays awau by herself; of course her favorite is the swing.

Turkeys or Turkey Vultures?

Thursday night I was washing my hands in the kitchen when a overly large 'raven' flew past the garage and up into a neighbors tree. When I looked out the window I got a shock that there was a rookery in the tree and the birds weren't behaving like ravens. I grabbed Jim, the camera and the binoculars to go get a better look. Unfortunately it was around 8:30PM and getting dark quickly. We never got a clear view of exactly what kind of birds they were. We did get a count though - 12 birds! We think they were wild turkeys or turkey vultures. Jim thought he'd check in the morning, but when I let the dogs out at 9:30 all the birds were gone.

2 Adults...1,2,3,4,5 Motorcycles?

Jim did a round trip journey to Minneapolis on Saturday to get yet another motorcycle! We are now up to 5? 4 are in the garage and only 3 of those run. I can only see 1 in the basement, but there are parts, parts and more parts that make up bikes 6 & 7. Anybody want a ct90?

Morgan's 1st Powwow

While Jim motored back to the cities to pick up his new (old) motorcycle, Morgan and I had fun with our friends Julia and Elizabeth (and later Jason). I prepped Morgan before going into the stadium that it might be very loud and she would be OK and that she would hear lots of music and see pretty dancers. When the Grand Entry finally started Morgan was transfixed! Whe was clinging to me but not in fear, it was like she was trying to climb up me to get higher and higher. This afternoon when Jim gat back and Morgan was up from her nap she was able to tell Jim that she had gone to the Powwow and seen dancing.

These are some clips - the last one with the little guy is wonderful. It amazed me how the very young children ran in and out of the dance so secure in their surroundings and not frightened of where mom or dad were.

This is the little guy dancing. He was stopped by 2 Asain tourists to take pictures with; when they were done the little one demanded to see the pictures. And all was done with no spoken English!

Easter in the cities

We spent Easter in Minneapolis and it was a beautiful weekend. I got to ckeck out a massive Thrift store with Mary Beth and Morgan identified her first bird by it's call. We were walking out of the Anoka Care Center after visiting with my Grandparents and a raven was cawing over hear. Morgan was walking, cocked her head and said, "a raven, mama!"

Night time comforts

Just a silly pick of her sleeping with her 'binks'.

Friends along for the ride

Morgan now wants to take 'friends' with her in the backpack when we go for walks. Our walks are so much fun because she carries on non-stop dialogue. Most recent she talks about basketball hoops which she pronounces 'bakisbal-poops' and bicycles (Jim got his down and the trailer and they went for a ride) 'bike-eh-sols'.

March 6th to March 30th

I feel like the snow melted SO fast this year - which is of course what contributed to all the flooding. But still in 24 days we lost over 3 feet of snow! Here are the compairson pictures from March 6th and then again on March 30th.

13 high

She managed to stack 13 blocks all by herself. Jim turned around to see she had done it. Then the challenge was to get pictures without her knocking them over.

Gotta love the genes!

It's official she can roll her tongue!

Bath time sillies

I actually pulled her out of the tub just to see herself in the mirror with the mohawk. She laughed so hard she almost slipped off the counter. This is her favorite towel, "I'm a sheep, Mama!" or "I need my aminal (no that's no a typo) tow-whoa!"

Nap time Sillies

These are pics from just after a nap a few weeks ago. 99% of the time she wakes up SO happy and is so funny - this was one of those priceless days. The hair flip is so funny too!
