Tumbling Blocks

Morgan discovered that she could balance blocks side by side for more support while stacking them higher. She very strategically would place the right one then the left and even them up.

Until Daddy said, "be careful and don't bump the table." So what did she do? Fortunately there were no tears!

It's the same Bic Pen!

Our fun reference: When Morgan was born my dad questioned whether the NICU had smaller diapers since she obviously was swimming in the regular size they had put on her. So in response we needed a point of refernce to show how big Morgan really was. By the way - the diapers are the second smallest NICU diapers. And thus, the bic pen sizing began.

We chose to stay home and be quiet for Morgan's 2nd birthday. She enjoyed herself non-the-less - ripping paper off 'pezents', astonishment at new toys and books, and playing her heart out. She also had real (milk-free) birthday cake, of which the yellow and pink frosting were her favorite. All afternoon while I was making frosting and decorating the cake she'd walk into the kitchen and ask for pink or 'leh-loh fosting' (yellow frosting).

Morgan is Two

Morgan turned 2 this last weekend and after much thought we decided that we'd take the technical leap and start a blog to be able to share more pictures, video clips and stories.

Here's our first information - Morgan went in for her 2 year appointment this morning and we found out that she is normal! The work we put in over the last 2 years has paid off. Most doctors say that preemies will catch up to their same age peers by the time they are 2. Morgan has done that and gone beyond. She is still a skinny-minny weighing in at only 22 lbs in the 0-5th percentile! Her height is 33 3/4" (25-50%). Dr. Card is not worried about her weight since there is family history on both sides of being skinny through the toddler years. She does get to stay on whole milk to keep her calories up. Her language and cognitive development on the other hand is off the chart the other way. When asked to identify what I was pointing to on the eval sheet (a pictue of a bird) she did not say bird, but said, "it flies" and signed 'flying in the sky'. I gave her extra points for communicating in 2 languages!
