Goin' Campin'....Again

The new tent was a hit and Morgan decided that she and her babies should pee-ten (pretend) to go camping. What you can't see in the pic is all her babies, blankets and books - hey she's got her priorities straight! You need good books on the trail!

Driveway Destruction... oh no, wait, Construction

We have not had access to our road/driveway for almost a month now. Which has meant no motorcycle riding, no bike riding and no stroller walks since there's been no sidewalk!

They finally poured our driveway skirt today. The Foreman said they will grate on Saturday and may get blacktop next Monday.

Beloved Duluth

We had a wonderful weekend celebrating the UMD Outdoor Program's 30 year anniversary.

We got to hang out with Kat and Papa in a cool hotel where we could watch the big boats come in, the scenic train go by and Gulls swoop and sore past the balcony. We got to hit all our fav restaurants too! Taste of Saigon (Morgan loved the wonton soup), Sarah's Table and of course Uncle Louis! And because Duluth is a magical place we ran into the Machones' at Uncle Louis on Sunday morning and Morgan got to meet her 'Uncle Adam' for the first time!

People from around the world came home to catch up and have some Outdoor Fun! Jim introduced Morgan to a kayak and he and I both got to try paddle boarding (paddling a surf board then trying to catch a wave). We got to hang out with some of the most special people in the world - although not long enough, before we knew it the weekend was over.

Morgan came up with the idea of the neclace as her baby sling. Because she's still such a light- weight she (Morgan) still spends long hikes in her backpack, storkenwiege sling or side sling. So it's great to see her want to carry her baby!

Girl Camp

It amazes me how fast this summer is going and how many great adventures we have had. July 8, 9 & 10 friends from near and far gathered around horses for a weekend of riding, hiking and heat!

Thank you Becky and Russ Tweiten for generously allowing us to 'camp-out' at the barn.

We hiked in the Sand Hills National Grasslands. We started out around 10AM and it must have already been hi 80 degrees. But all the girls were troopers hiking and playing!

Who says North Dakota is flat and boring. The pictures don't do the hills or the sky justice. We will definately be going back for more hiking!

I don't have any riding pics - mainly because by the time I got around to taking pics the girls (any many of the women) were stripped down to bare skin or skivies. By late afternoon we were melting in the shade and suffering high 90degree + high humidity. The girls had found the hose and were playing in the water. If others in the group share their pics with me I will gladly post them!

A room with a view

We still keep a potty chair downstairs for the just-in-case. She moves it around to suit her mood. Today she added a 1/4 bath to her house

Then she almost figured out pedaling!

July 4th in the Cities

We went to visit Grandma and Grandpa before they leave for New Zealand. On the trip down Morgan announced she had to go potty and was able to pee at an exit!We tried a new sleeping arrangement since she really doesn't fit in a pac'n'play. This is how it was supposed to work... This was the early night schootchBy 2AM she had rolled off the pad, across the floor under our bed and our comforter was falling off and burying her. Jim had to get up and pull out the 'she fits if she sleeps kitty-corned across' pac'n'play where she didn't settle back down and ended up in bed with us.
But she was Oh-So happy to wake up in between us!
